Connected Cars: A Service Providers Opportunity

The Automotive Industry is moving towards an era where it will rely on Telecom companies for seamless data services for vehicles. Creating an opportunity for mobile operators in connected cars ecosystem. It is expected that more than 75% of the cars will be connected to the internet by 2025. Towards this indicative trend, AT&T and Porsche have signed multi-year contract where AT&T providing 4G LTE services to select connected Porsche vehicles in the US.


AT&T accounts for 50% of the connected car market and the number is expected to reach 70% by 2018. AT&T Drive is the company’s connected car platform – a modular, global solution that allows automakers to pick and choose which services and capabilities are important to them in order to differentiate their solutions in the market.
