Volkswagen Unveiled Autonomous Electric Vehicle Charging Bot
"Volkswagen revealed a mobile charging bot prototype which can charge a car without any human intervention. This robot works via command through an app or V2X communication. The autonomous charging bot can hold up to 25kWh of power and supports DC charging up to 50kW.
With the increasing penetration of electric vehicle (EV) sales, charging standard and charging infrastructure is going to be the major headache for automakers. This unique solution will eliminate searching for charging stations at car parking spaces. It can be easily installed at all parking spaces and capital cost for setting up a charging station will also reduce.
Volkswagen, the largest automaker in the world started entering the EV segment slowly but is now accelerating to keep its place in the transformation phase of the automotive sector.
