"Redmi has recently launched its flagship K20 and K20 pro in India, trying to increase its foothold in the affordable premium segment after the Pocophone. However, the brand is facing challenges due to pricing. Redmi has often associated with sub-US $150 price phones and K series is priced above US $300. Xiaomi has been constantly pivoting its marketing campaigns around low pricing and has established its image as a strong budget smartphone player. However, competition has also become very aggressive in this segment. Competitors like RealMe and OPPO have launched devices (RealMe X and OPPO K3) with similar design features like pop up camera under the US $250 that are giving a tough challenge to the value proposition of Redmi." - Varun Mishra
