ON Semiconductor Acquires Quantenna for US$1 Billion Deal
"ON Semiconductor announced the acquisition of California-based semiconductor firm, Quantenna Communications. Quantenna sells WiFi chips and software used in routers and other electronic devices. The acquisition will help expand ON Semiconductors's chip portfolio, which currently consists of wireless RF transceivers supporting protocols such as Bluetooth, Sigfox, ZigBee, Thread, 6LoWPAN and others.
