Overview:

LATAM Handset shipments slightly decreased in 2019 due to a further slowing in the replacement rate. Despite the flatlining market, the top three brands all increased their volume in the region. Brazil was the only country that experienced YoY growth in 2019. Mexico’s market was flat, while all the other countries sales declined compared to the previous year. Peru, with -17% YoY, had the deepest decline.

LATAM is a dynamic region, with two large countries such as Brazil and Mexico and many small size markets. This report analyzes the LATAM smartphone ecosystem development in 2019, including top player performance and strategies, and the evolution of the sales channels, priceband and smartphones spec in the region.
