"Huawei launched a new CPU for use in data centre servers, a move to provide an alternative for the market to Intel's products. The chipset is named Kunpeng 920 and is jointly developed with Arm Holdings. Huawei plans to increase its competitiveness by strengthening its own semiconductor development which is an important component for telecommunication devices such as smartphones. Not only Huawei, but many Chinese OEMs seemed to realize the importance of self-developed components through the US-China trade dispute this time and this move is likely to expand in the future." - SuJeong Lim
