Fiat Chrysler's Announces New Infotainment System Uconnect 5
"Uconnect 5 is built on the Android OS using upgraded hardware. It supports both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, which can be used wirelessly. It also introduces inbuilt LTE and WiFi for the always-connected car. Using the system, OTA updates will be seamless. Since the OS is based on Android it can support multiple applications, but many will need to be modified for the car's interface. There is also inbuilt support for Alexa, which enables controls like remote ignition or door locking. This is a step-up from assistants controlling just the infotainment and enables players like Amazon to get their hands-on data not available earlier." - Parv Sharma
