"Ericsson has announced that it would be willing to reduce its 5G royalty charges to $2.5 per device, half of what it was meant to charge originally, i.e $5 per device. The move is to assist smartphone players in emerging countries like India. The intention to reduce the royalty would lower the ASP of 5G phones in emerging markets that are price sensitive. This could accelerate 5G device adoption and eventually 5G network infrastructure in emerging countries." -Shobhit Srivastava
