The UK government is going to ban conventional vehicle sales from 2035, advancing 5 years from the previous target. EDF had previously acquired Powerflex Systems and Pivot Power, and made a partnership with Nuvve Corporation for developing charging infrastructure.
The current acquisition will also increase competition among other players like Enel, Innogy, E.ON, Eneco, Engie, American Electric Power, Shell, BP and Total.
