Huawei shipped about 48.92 million smartphones in 2024, accounting for about 4% of the global market, Canalys data shows. It was still much weakened from its position as the world's second-largest handset maker back in 2019, when it held a share of more than 17%, before the U.S. cut off its access to top global chip production partners. Its market has been constrained mainly to its home market, with 95% of the shipments last year being in China.
