In the second quarter of 2024, the global market for foldable smartphones saw steady growth, with shipments rising by 48% compared to the previous year, This growth was primarily seen in China, Western Europe, and Asia-Pacific (excluding South Korea and Japan). The strong growth of the overall smartphone market also played a significant role in this increase. We expect substantial growth in the foldable smartphone market, driven mainly by the introduction of entry-level foldable smartphones worldwide. However, it’s important to note that this prediction is still uncertain. There is concern among OEMs about potential decreases in sales of their current foldable devices, which may lead to limited supply. Nevertheless, the increasing competition among OEMs, including Huawei, Honor, and Motorola, is likely to fuel further growth in the global foldable market.
