Overview: Apple has tried to enter the smart home category multiple times in the past, whether it is the Apple TV box or HomePod or HomeKit, but all these attempts resulted in limited success. Apple is reportedly again planning to expand its offerings in the smart home segment with a camera and a smart home display. This report analyses why Apple is entering these segments and how smart home can be the ultimate Apple Ecosystem Lock-in.
