Qualcomm is rapidly emerging as a key player in the transformation of autonomous driving and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), expanding its footprint through cutting-edge innovation and strategic partnerships. At its Analyst Workshop in April 2025, Qualcomm revealed its roadmap for smart mobility, centered on the Snapdragon Ride and Digital Chassis platforms. These scalable, AI-powered systems are designed to power the software-defined vehicles (SDVs) of the future.
The company’s momentum in the automotive space is undeniable. Qualcomm reported a 55% YoY increase in automotive revenue and a $45 billion design-win pipeline – one-third of which comes from ADAS and autonomous driving solutions. With more than 350 million vehicles already using Qualcomm technology, the impact is far-reaching.
At the core of Qualcomm’s strategy is the Snapdragon Ride platform, already in use by global OEMs like GM, BMW, and Stellantis, as well as major Chinese players such as Chery and SAIC-VW. Qualcomm’s Ride Elite solution, capable of interfacing with over 40 sensors, is built on a high-performance, modular architecture. This allows manufacturers to efficiently scale from basic driver assistance to full autonomy using the same core platform.
