Overview
Counterpoint's Macro Index dropped to 88.03 as of the end of Q1 2025, from 91.3 in Q4 2024, due to tariff threats. Global trade war dramatically disrupted markets, supply chains, company operations and consumer sentiment.
The three-month outlook drops further to 72.78 as countries will likely take retaliatory actions in response to the US tariffs threats. Trade negotiations are expected to be bumpy in the next six to 12 months.
