Overview: In Q4 2024, TSMC extended its market leadership, capturing a 67% revenue share on the back of sustained AI accelerator demand and a seasonal rebound in Android flagship smartphone orders. Continued strength in 5nm and 3nm shipments drove sequential growth, even amid muted demand in other consumer segments. Samsung Foundry held the second position with an 11% market share, as momentum from mid-range Android SoCs moderated slightly from the previous quarter. SMIC maintained its third position with a 5% share, supported by pre-build activity from Chinese customers ahead of potential tariffs and ongoing domestic stimulus. UMC and GlobalFoundries each held a 5% market share, rounding out the top five. Both foundries faced slower recovery in non-AI segments, with customers maintaining cautious inventory strategies despite signs of stabilization.
