•    Summary:-
“The global smartphone AP (Application Processor)/SoC (System on Chip) chipset shipments remained flat YoY in Q3 2024. MediaTek leads the smartphone SoC market with a share of 36%.”

Apple: Apple’s chipset shipments increased in Q3 2024 due to the launch of the Apple A18 series.

MediaTek: MediaTek shipments increased slightly QoQ in Q3 2024. LTE SoC shipments saw an increase, whereas 5G shipments declined sequentially. In MediaTek’s portfolio, the 5G penetration is growing in the sub-$150 smartphone segment, which should lead to market share gains for MediaTek, driven by its relative strength in entry-level 5G chipsets.

Qualcomm: Qualcomm's shipments declined sequentially in Q3 2024 due to seasonality. The demand for Snapdragon 8 Gen3 is expected to remain strong due to the Samsung Galaxy Fold/Flip 6 series launch. The shipments for premium chipsets will remain strong, due to the design wins for the newly launched Snapdragon 8 Elite.

Samsung: Samsung Exynos saw a slight increase in Q3 2024 With the launch of Samsung Galaxy S24 FE. Further, shipments of Exynos 1480 and Exynos 1380 have increased due to the high shipment volumes for Samsung’s Galaxy A55 and A35.

UNISOC: UNISOC’s shipments declined in Q3 2024. UNISOC continues to gain a share in the low-tier price bands (under $99) driven by its LTE portfolio.
