At Computex 2025, held in May in Taipei, Taiwan, Qualcomm highlighted the Snapdragon X platform’s current and future design wins and also emphasized the company’s focus on entering the enterprise and data center segments. David Naranjo, Associate Director at Counterpoint Research, sat down with Alex Katouzian, Group GM for Mobile, Compute, XR and Wearables at Qualcomm, to discuss the company's success in the PC market and the trends driving that success. Katouzian highlighted the importance of processing power and energy efficiency, the importance of providing premium experiences for the category and the expectation that the X2 platform, to be announced in September 2025, will continue to drive this success.
Performance per Watt and energy efficiency are the key drivers for the continued penetration of the Snapdragon X platforms.
AI on-device use cases are gaining traction with application developers and users.
Similar to smartphones, premiumization (best performance, best NPU, best battery life) are key guideposts along with a strong value proposition for Qualcomm as they continue to penetrate the PC segment.
Qualcomm is setting its sights on the Enterprise market with a focus on working with partners to ensure that applications and applicable uses cases are meeting the enterprise customer's needs and expectations.
At Computex 2025, Qualcomm showcased its many design wins for the Snapdragon X platform with more to come throughout the year.
Qualcomm also announced its entry into the Data Center segment working with the recently announced NVIDIA NV Link.
Qualcomm declared the dates for the Snapdragon Summit to be held in September 2025 – one month earlier than before. The Snapdragon X2 platform is sure to be a highlight of this summit with updated specifications and performance.
