Shipments of MediaTek’s Dimensity 9000 SoC series grew 60% YoY in 2024 to reach around 18 million from around 11 million in 2023, according to Counterpoint Research’s Global Smartphone SoC Shipment and Forecast Tracker by Model. For 2025, Counterpoint estimates shipments of around 24 million for the Dimensity 9000 series. MediaTek’s flagship SoCs (9300/9400) have been major growth drivers, significantly increasing both unit shipments and revenue. The revenue from Dimensity’s flagship SoCs doubled to $2 billion in 2024. The Dimensity 9500 will be launched in the second half of 2025.

Which OEMs are driving Dimensity 9000 series sales?
2025E 9500 The Dimensity 9000 series targets Chinese brands, driving shipments in the domestic Chinese market, as well as emerging markets like Southeast Asia. OPPO, vivo and Redmi are the top three OEMs driving Dimensity 9000 shipments. Top models include the vivo X200 Pro, OPPO Find X8 Pro, OPPO Find X8, iQOO Neo 10 Pro and Redmi K80 Ultra. OPPO and vivo are driving the majority of shipments for the Dimensity 9400, while iQOO, OPPO, Redmi and vivo are driving the majority of shipments for the Dimensity 9300.

Which regions are driving Dimensity 9000 series sales?
China is by far the most important market for the Dimensity 9000 series. The Dimensity 9400’s sales have helped MediaTek capture approximately one-third of the premium SoC market in China. The company is also experiencing growth in India and Southeast Asia. The key reasons for Dimensity’s success include competitive pricing, better battery life and thermals compared to the competition, no support for millimeter wave needed in targeted markets, and strong AI and gaming capabilities.
