Global Smartphone AP Market Share by Revenue 

Qualcomm has dominated the AP market in terms of revenue in Q1 2022 owing to strong premium-tier sales. Supply improved and Qualcomm made flagship design wins with all major Chinese brands. These devices are now hitting the market. It is a feather in Qualcomm’s cap that Samsung has increased the variants of its Galaxy S22 line-up powered by Snapdragon.

  • Apple’s shipments declined 1% YoY in Q1 2022 to reach 59 million units.
  • Xiaomi, OPPO and vivo’s component struggles continued, causing QoQ and YoY declines in their respective shipments.
  • HONOR’s shipments grew 148% YoY in Q1 2022 to 16 million units. Consequently, its market share rose to 5%, up from 4% in Q4 2021 and 2% in Q1 2021.

Global Smartwatch Market Analysis: Q1 2022

Overview:

In Q1 2022, the market’s shipments grew 13% YoY to reach 33.7 million units. This was a double-digit growth for the fifth consecutive quarter. HLOS (High Level OS) and Basic Type smartwatches grew 25% and 24% YoY respectively, leading the market growth. Kids and Hybrid/Digital Types showed declines of 24% and 35% respectively. In particular, the Kids Watch market share fell 6% points as demand in regions other than China fell significantly. Likewise, Hybrid/Digital declined in all regions except North America.
